Le CRIF donne ses consignes au locataire de l’Élysée
The President of the Representative Council of Jewish Institutions in France (CRIF) Roger Cukierman spoke of a “war situation” before being received with other representatives of the Jewish community on Sunday by Francois Hollande at the Elysee.
At the start of a very long day that will involve fifty foreign leaders and officials meeting at the presidential palace and participating in the silent march through Paris, Roger Cukierman spoke briefly in the courtyard of the Elysee Palace to demand strong measures ” because we are in a war situation”
He was accompanied by Chief Rabbi of France Korsia Haim, the president of the Israelite Consistory Joel Mergui France as well as leaders of the United Jewish Welfare Fund, the Union of Jewish Students of France (UEJF), the Foundation for the Memory of the Holocaust and the Holocaust Memorial.
All were received at 0900 by the Head of State surrounded Prime Minister Manuel Valls and interior ministers Bernard Cazeneuve and Justice Christiane Taubira.
A significant gesture, after the Jewish community was targeted in the attack on the kosher store Porte de Vincennes, where four people were killed Friday, two days after the attack against Charlie Hebdo.
Roger Cukierman, “it is intolerable that on social networks, there has been a hashtag saying” I’m Kouachi “this murderer, and that this has had 18,000 hashtag tweets”.
“This is an defence of murder and it is criminal”, denounced the president of CRIF, believing that social networks must learn “not to contribute to hatred.”
“We must also work on networks (television) satellites broadcasting hatred of Jews on Arab networks and we must also fight against prisons being used as jihadist training places,”
And “We demand that all those who are suspected to be jihadists in this country are subject to preventive measures, maybe remand, or even forced to wear electronic bracelets”, continued the president of the CRIF
Government, former presidents and prime ministers and French leaders and foreign officials then proceed to the Élysée Palace at 15:00 before joining the rally that has already been described as historical”.
