DELEGAZIONE DI MEPs IN ISRAELE E PALESTINA
2-7 FEBBRAIO, 2008
Dal 2 al 7 febbraio 2008 una delegazione di Membri del Parlamento Europeo si recherà in missione in Israele e nel Territorio Occupato Palestinese.
La delegazione, organizzata da Luisa Morgantini Vice Presidente del Parlamento Europeo, include 12 Deputati Europei appartenenti a differenti gruppi politici (sotto la lista dei partecipanti), 6 ufficiali/assistenti e alcuni giornalisti.
Lo scopo della missione è di conoscere la realtà sul terreno e di acquisire informazioni dirette sulla situazione corrente in particolare con la visita di città in Israele, nella West Bank e nella Striscia di Gaza, tra cui Gerusalemme, Tel Aviv, Ramallah, Betlemme, Hebron e anche Gaza city e Sderot.
Il programma della delegazione prevede incontri con Membri del Consiglio Legislativo Palestinese e delle Autorità Palestinesi, con Membri della Knesset, con rappresentanti degli uffici dell’Unione Europea e dell’UNRWA, ma anche con organizzazioni per la pace e per i diritti umani della società civile israeliana e palestinese.

MEPs’ FACT FINDING MISSION TO ISRAEL AND PALESTINE
FEBRUARY 2-7, 2008
A delegation of Members of European Parliament will participate to the fact finding mission in Israel e in the Occupied Palestinian Territory from 2nd till 7th February 2008.
The delegation, organized by EP Vice President Luisa Morgantini, includes 12 Members of the European Parliament belonging to different political groups (see the list of participants below), 6 officials/assistants and some journalists.
The objective of the mission is to know the reality on the ground and to achieve direct information about the ongoing situation especially through the visit of towns in Israel, West Bank and Gaza Strip, such as Jerusalem, Tel Aviv, Ramallah, Bethlehem, Hebron but also Gaza city and Sderot.
The programme of the mission foresees meetings with Members of the Palestinian Legislative Council and Palestinian Authorities, with Members of the Knesset, with EU and UNRWA’s Representatives, but also with peace and human rights organizations from Israeli and Palestinian civil societies.
